Software Engineer - Reading Salary up to £50,000 plus benefits. Full-time, Permanent Key Experience in VB.NET, C#, MS TSQL, VS2010 / VS2017, Win7, TDD The Company & Opportunity: Our client are a leading innovative equipment manufacturer to the construction industry. They are growing exponentially and are looking for a Software Engineer to join their team in Reading offering a fantastic and exciting opportunity for the right candidate. You will have an immense amount of input into product development, decision making and the overall engineering culture of the company. The Role: We are looking for an experienced Software Engineer with a minimum of 5 years' experience, preferably from within a Engineering or Scientific industry. One that has experience of VB.NET (primary), with C# secondary, MS TSQL, VS2010 / VS2017, Win7 and TDD. Our client need an individual who can demonstrate a good understanding from both a technological and architectural perspective with a will to learn and thrive in a ‘can-do' environment. You will work as part of a team on below tasks: Multi-Lingual WinForms Development in VB.NET (primary), with C# secondary, MS TSQL, VS2010 moving to VS2017 Refactoring, developing and extending legacy and new code base. Bug Fixing: Using debugging, diagnostic and profiling tools to help us build efficient software that works. Technical advice to service, documentation and sales team on performance, operation, usage and diagnostics of our software suite Working within Distributed Source Control (Mercurial/Kiln Preferred) Working to Bug Trackers (Fogbugz for instance) Excellent knowledge of Windows Operating Systems (Win7) Coding Technologies: WinForms, WPF, C#, VB.Net, EF Coding Techniques: TDD, MVVM, MCV, Async & Threading Database Technologies: MS SQL moving to a NoSQL type (tbd) Unit Testing: MS Test (or other) to ensure the code you've written functions as designed by creating automated unit and integration tests Key Skills, Qualifications and Experience: A BA/BS degree in Software Engineering / Computer Science or a related technical field with a minimum result of 2:1 Experience of the technologies prescribed above. Minimum 5 years' work experience. Written and Spoken English must be first class, the client is a worldwide company so you must be able to converse extremely clearly with those who may not always have English as a first language.
