Qualified Accountant required Part time hours on offer - circa 30 hours Outskirts of Cardiff Salary of up to £43,000 per annum (pro rata’d) My client, a successful and growing business, based in the outskirts of Cardiff is seeking to recruit a part time hands on qualified Accountant to join its team. The main purpose of the role is to be a key member of the finance team, assisting with the preparation and reviewing of report and accounts reviewing payrolls and managing a small team of payroll and accounts staff. The role will require you to assist and lead adhoc finance projects as and when required. Main Duties and Responsibilities of the role to include - Preparation and review of reports and accounts in accordance with relevant legislation Prepare for audit ensuring any issues are resolved ready for filing within required deadline Provide support and manage members of the payroll and accounts team and reinforce the induction, training, supervision and evaluation of departmental staff Manage workload, resourcing and task allocation of payroll team Assist with training on reports and accounts and ad hoc tasks across the finance team Lead and assist on ad-hoc finance projects as and when they occur Communicate to internal and external stakeholders to ensure the department’s accurate and efficient service delivery Represent the Firm externally to clients, potential clients and auditors Record and retain data in accordance with the business procedures Undertake all required training to develop relevant personal knowledge, capability and skills, pursuing qualifications relevant to the role. Demonstrate up to date knowledge is maintained through ongoing professional development and document in line with internal procedures Support to the Financial Controller and Assistant Financial Controller Person Specification Qualified accountant Staff management experience Liaising with auditors (audit background is preferable) Attention to detail and high level accuracy Proactive approach to tasks Prepared to challenge and not afraid to ask questions Team player - works well with people of all levels and abilities Good organisation skills, ability to work to tight deadlines Ability to plan own work and work of team Technical accounting knowledge Reliable, Discreet, honest and trustworthy Self-motivated with a flexible attitude Benefits on offer - My client is flexible as to the hours and / or days worked for this role. The role offers an annual bonus of up to 5%, after successful passing of your probation. Holiday entitlement is 24 days plus Bank hols with the ability to buy an extra 6 days of hols Pension is 4% and 4%
