Business Analyst – Software / Mathematical - Leicester Competitive plus bonus The Company: Our client is a trusted supplier of technology to the financial services industry and has a flat structure and employs many talented people who all work together. They are looking for a candidate who is able to fit into this structure and communicate with both business people and the development team. The Role: The successful Business Analyst will join the Wealth Management team and act as the liaison between business users and development teams to ensure that requirements are correctly translated through ubiquitous language. The applicant must possess the techniques to efficiently extract information needed from business users whilst analysing complex problems. The Business Analyst will work with business users to validate their requirements via techniques such as reviews, walkthroughs and persona analysis. In addition, will aid in the testing life cycle through acceptance and in-depth regression testing to prevent the modification of any module or functionality. Furthermore, assisting in the writing of user acceptance test (UAT) cases and will act as a liaison between business users and the relevant bodies during a business's UAT test cycle. The Business Analyst will plan and implement effective test strategies in order to ensure the quality of a range of desktop and web-based software solutions. They will also ensure that software delivery is problem-free and meets the business and user requirements. It would be beneficial to have knowledge of a wide-range of testing disciplines; from manual software testing, collaborating with colleagues on user stories as well as writing and undertaking test plans. The Business Analyst will possess the ability to assess and process results from automated tests, manual reproduction of issues, raising bug reports and writing customer facing instructions as well as training guides. You will have experience in capturing and documenting requirements from business users, exposure to processes and techniques for requirements analysis, strong analytical skills and excellent written and communication skills. You will also be a strong team player but equally motivated to work efficiently independently, be able to conduct system testing and data verification and have a strong attention to detail and ability to maintain version control It will be great if you have Domain experience in the Wealth Management / Financial Services Industry and a good understanding of the main concepts of software testing. You will have experience in creating and executing test strategies and knowledge of automated testing using Selenium, knowledge of Java and Maven, awareness of Agile methodologies, knowledge of SQL/ Oracle and knowledge of Jira (or an equivalent ticket/call logging system). Your key responsibilities will include communicating with business users for requirements gathering, Requirements analysis and documenting of details and liaising with the development team to effectively communicate the requirements Also in depth acceptance testing, assisting the Implementation team and end business users through the entire project life cycle and assisting the Support team to analyse software issues.
