Overview
This is a new and exciting opportunity to work for one of the UK's leading Global insurance companies. They offer a wide range of general insurance products for the SME to Mid Corp, providing excellent customer service to its portfolio of intermediaries within South East & surrounding areas. Working from their Reading operation as commercial trading underwriter, you will be responsible for underwriting all of the commercial insurance account mainly focusing on an existing portfolio which would include dealing with renewals and MTA's. This opportunity could suit someone who is looking to make the next step up after a few years working within an underwriting environment, such as an Assistant Underwriter, where you can develop your career and be more empowered in making your own underwriting decisions and developing key broker relationships. There is great scope for career progression within this role which will give you autonomy and freedom on developing and maintaining key intermediary relationships within this region where you will be encouraged to attend broker visits as and when required. The role will focus on you becoming an integral part of the team, liaising and speaking to your fellow colleagues on a regular basis to maximise cross selling opportunities where possible. Ideal candidates will have some previous experience within a commercial combined, property underwriting environment and have previously built and maintained key broker relationships. You will also need to demonstrate that you have drive, self motivation and determination to achieve results, outstanding communication and interpersonal skills. In addition to this, you will also need to be a team player but also be able to work under your own initiative. ACII or progression towards this would be advantageous. Excellent basic salary and attractive Pension, Bonus and annual days holiday would be provided with this role.
