Overview

We are looking for a Senior Systems Engineer that will engage in managing and maintaining enterprise level solutions and infrastructure. The position will be responsible for operating and maintaining existing environments through Lifecycle Management. Our automation first strategy challenges you to always consider if a work process can be automated. We require you to be familiar with how to automate processes. Work tasks and responsibilities: Provide technical direction and advice to key clients Understand urgency and impact of individual tickets in order to prioritize workload. Take ownership of key clients incidents and requests to resolution, bringing technical parties together and escalating to line management as required Ensure tasks are delivered on time and within Service Level Agreements Acting as technical escalation point where complex and/or critical service impacting issues are identified Ensure the root cause of any problems are found and best practice resolutions are implemented Administer client infrastructure and endpoint devices as part of managed services provision Provide on-going maintenance, system checks, security set up and support Provide consultancy and advice to Cegal customers Contribute to the design and implementation of new products and services Take a consultative approach towards specification of new solutions to meet the technical challenges and requirements of Cegal customers Project management of client consultancy projects Automate and script tasks to improve efficiencies with technical environments and reduce the need for repetition and human intervention Commercial awareness towards meeting and fulfilling client’s technical requirements Personal qualifications: Working in Cegal requires that you are responsible and independent, but also a team player that thrive in a technical environment. At least 5 years’ experience in IT service operational environment required Minimum 2 years’ experience providing support to enterprise level solutions and infrastructure In-depth knowledge of core Microsoft technologies, and Cloud services Detailed knowledge of server infrastructure technologies, monitoring, and hypervisor management Good understanding of ITIL processes and service management best practices, specifically Change Management Ability to deliver a high level of quality and customer experience Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously Curious and fast learner, particularly with regards to new technologies Good written, oral and interpersonal communication skills Other beneficial qualifications : ITIL v3/v4 Foundation Certified VMware VCP Microsoft Hyper-V Microsoft Azure Certifications Microsoft EMS Good knowledge of the Networking Stack Working knowledge of Remote Working / Mobile Computing Scripting knowledge and experience would be an advantage Formal requirements : Right to work in the UK We can offer: Permanent, full-time position Competitive salary (depending on experience and skills) and benefits (pension, private health, 33 day's leave including bank holidays, travel insurance, death-in-service insurance) Exciting and challenging work within a friendly and supportive environment Career opportunities International environment Location Aberdeen, UK Application deadline ASAP Start as soon as possible.
