Your new role In your new job you will work as part of a dedicated Building Surveying team, consisting of graduates, Newly Qualified and Senior Surveyors reporting to the Senior Partner. Under direction from the senior partner you will lead the junior team members on instructions consisting of pre-acquisition surveys, party wall matters, dilapidations, specific defects and technical due-diligence, with the view to providing specifications, schedules of work and contract administration to resulting projects which will generally range in value between £10m & £30m. You will work independently at times working on instructions/projects across multiple sectors such as student accommodation, retail, office, industrial & hotels and private rental. What you'll need to succeed In order to be considered for this job you will need to be either an MRICS chartered Building Surveyor, or due to sit your APC within 6 months. You will need to be able to work independently, communicating strongly verbally and in writing with landlords, external consultants, occupiers and contractors throughout projects, effectively managing client expectations. You will need in-depth dilapidations, party wall, and defect analysis experience to succeed in this job role. You will also need to be able to manage projects independently. You will need to be well presented, prepared and confident, as this is a client facing role which will require you to represent the business in professional environments, during consultation and securing business from new clients. You will need to be fee driven and motivated for this job, as you be expected to lead by example, driving fees, billing a minimum of 3 x annual salary each year, and bringing new clients to the business. What you'll get in return In return for your commitment, you will receive a competitive salary in-line with local market average, starting from £40-45K, which will increase subject to regular performance reviews. In addition to your basic salary you will receive a car allowance of £4k per annum (or a fully serviced & maintained company car up to £26,000 value) and business mileage covered at 45p per mile. You will receive 26 days of annual leave each year and 8 bank holidays in addition. Full private family healthcare will be activated after you have completed your three month probation period in the job. This will be activated on successful completion of said period. Your salary will be reviewed annually and based on performance and impact on the business you could see significant increases on your base salary. You will also receive a discretionary biannual bonus, generally received in July & October. You will be provided with a company mobile for business use and your contract will be covered by the business. Your annual RICS subscription will also be covered by the business, as well as any relevant CPD courses, subject to approval. The company has a flexible benefits scheme which allows you to sign up to heavily discounted subscriptions such as gym membership, travel insurance, dental cover etc, and gives you the option to buy or sell holiday. You can change your benefits each March. Finally, you will also receive Personal Accident Cover which will cover you for any accidents at work or in the process of attending work (commute, travel to meetings etc) and will be signed up to a company life assurance with a 4 x annual salary lump sum payout.
