Your new role This council are currently recruiting for the position of a Planning Enforcement Officer, to join their team on a contracting basis. The role encompasses a variety of day-to-day activities: Investigate a wide range of alleged unauthorised development as allocated by the planning enforcement manager. Manage your own caseload of between 40-60 cases depending on the complexity of the enforcement issues within the team. Carry out site inspections to investigate and establish breaches of planning control as required, and efficiently monitor the progress of these cases until completion. Draft planning enforcement reports and planning enforcement notices, breach of condition notices, planning contravention notices, etc. as necessary and be able to defend these planning Enforcement decisions, including notices at appeal and prosecution if necessary with the support from the planning enforcement manager. What you'll need to succeed In order to be considered for the role, you will need to have prior experience working within local authority planning teams, and/or graduated with a MSc in an RTPI accredited degree. Candidates are also required to have a full driving license, with access to a car.
