Overview

The role will involve managing Logistics relationships including the development, negotiation and management of contracts with hauliers & warehousing suppliers to achieve significant savings in 2020. This is a greenfield global role that has never previously had global procurement focus. Expectation will also be around managing haulier selection, cost negotiation and monitoring compliance through the Essentra purchasing agreements. In addition, logistics partners are held accountable for performance and continuous improvement including delivery, working capital benefits and where appropriate utilising Supplier Scorecards. Finally, a key requirement of the role will be managing change, particularly around process improvement, provider change and managing commodity changes globally. Controls, monitors and communicates Global category status and any implemented changes. Implement and manage a robust Strategic (3 year) Logistics category strategy Coordinate, monitor and report on all global procurement processes Coordinate Logistics market intelligence and report to the business useful market information Monitor and report monthly Logistics savings while reporting against budget Influences and drives change management for the business. Delivers monthly Logistics KPI reports / Commodity analysis distributed to Procurement Director and wider team Working with key stakeholders to define opportunities and execute the benefits Supports Haulier price changes working with both Supply chain and Operations teams Ensures adherence with regards to specific Sourcing documentation and policy. Reviews gaps in Supplier Governance and develops action plans to address the situation, including KYS, Supplier Contracts and Contract Management Liaises with key stakeholders to promote Sourcing with the theme of delivering “What does good look like” Communicates reporting requirements throughout the divisional organisation Gathers accurate data to base core decisions on and delivers accurate reporting and judgement Manages, develops the commodity with an emphasis on continuous improvement methodology . Accountable for Global Logistics Strategy Reports accurately the progress and performance against the defined goals Ensures Essentra receives excellent trading terms through benchmarking and negotiation You should have the following skills, experience and/or qualifications: Logistics procurement experience is a must Degree educated or equivalent (& proven track record) Experience working within a complex multi-national business. Commercial acumen and ability to influence business leaders. Cost Reduction experience and evidence of delivering significant savings Packaging experience Essentra is built on diversity.
