Overview
We Require a Manual Lathe Operator to work Monday to Friday, 36 hours per week in the Cwmbran area. A competent lathe Operator with experience working manual lathes with some milling experience. Machining one offs to small batches up to 3 tonnes in weight. Responsibilities include: Use of manual centre lathe and tooling to machine components as specified in drawings. The ability to read engineering drawings. Competent in all aspects of setting tools, including having an understanding of cutting speeds and feeds. Strong experience using measurement/inspection equipment using measurement/inspection equipment including verniers, bore gauges, micrometers etc. Welding skills would be an advantage. Formal engineering qualification and advantage but not essential Training will be provided.
