POSITION: SENIOR HARDWARE PROJECT ENGINEER – R&D SALARY: £40K - £50K P/A (DOE) HOURS: 37.5HRS P/W LOCATION: HOOK, RG27 9HX EXPERIENCE: ESSENTIAL We are a specialist Contract Electronics Manufacturer, serving world-class customers in high reliability industries by providing a complete set of electronics design and manufacturing solutions in both printed circuit board assembly (PCBA) and full box-build manufacturing. We have a longstanding and enviable history of supply excellence to the aerospace and defence sectors. This ranges from cockpit avionics through to in flight entertainment systems. Due to continued success we are looking to recruit a Hardware Engineer. This is a fantastic opportunity for proactive and hardworking individuals to join a busy and fast-paced team. As a Hardware Engineer you will be responsible for specification, design and completion of assigned electronics design tasks according to recognised best practice. The role will involve creating electronics schematics and layouts using internal SW to offer required product functionality from assigned tasks, along with selecting appropriate electronic components to support assigned design tasks. You will need to support firmware development as appropriate, and liaise with global suppliers, hardware, software and manufacturing engineering teams to introduce and integrate new technology. You will also work closely with the mechanical engineering team to achieve required radiated RF and EMC performance and assure that created designs meets agreed internal and product regulatory standards. Eg. CE/FCC/PTCRB/GCF/FDA/UL. You will need a degree, or equivalent experience, in electronics engineering or computer science along with working knowledge of embedded microprocessors, communication bus architectures, electronics circuit design, integration and test within a project environment. Experience of 5G /4G or 3G would be an advantage, as would experience of high-volume consumable goods, telecoms, Zigbee, or Bluetooth. Proficient in the use of PCB schematic capture and layout software. – Altium Designer - is also required. A full job description is available on request.
