Job description: Business Improvement Officer Warrington, WA3 7PB £23,500 Full-Time Permanent, 37.5 Hours The Job Opportunity This role is responsible for supporting the AASC contract in driving continuous improvement, transformational and Operational Excellence activity for the business across North West, Midlands and East of England. To design and deliver high-quality learning and development initiatives in accordance with the L&D; Policy and wider business objectives. To implement the L&D; Policy, the purpose of which is to support the business by linking all L&D; related activity to business needs and objectives and to establish priorities and plans for its activities around ongoing organisational and personal development. To drive personnel development across the organisation and contribute to the continuous improvement of human performance. Reason for Role To inspire and lead Operational Excellence, Personal Development and Business Improvement activity across the AASC contract. Responsible for supporting the business to achieve Operational Excellence maturity and to implement positive change throughout the organisation. Responsible for designing and delivering contractual training as required. Daily Duties Involve Liaison with a variety of internal and external stakeholders across the AASC contracts, and within wider Serco Act as an influence across the business, bringing specialist expertise to the overall strategy Driver of innovation and continuous improvement activity across the AASC contracts Support the Head of Business Improvement and Operational Excellence Governance board to strive for operational excellence, providing guidance and helping to remove barriers Serve as a change agent, driving a continual and sustainable improvement culture throughout the business Support project governance across contracts to ensure all improvement projects are joined up to deliver against priority areas Travel as required between contracts Support the end-to-end learning and development cycle to include learning needs analysis and evaluation. Facilitate a holistic learning approach, to include in-house solutions, such as job-shadowing, coaching and mentoring, action learning, e-learning, 1-2-1's, classroom based training and internal workshops Support learners with their individual learning objectives and design and deliver learning solutions that meet individual learner needs Design blended learning to include digital media, classroom based and e-learning content, making use of all available learning technologies Assist with the ongoing maintenance, development of and reporting on the Learning Management System ("LMS") and support staff in its use Assist with monitoring, evaluating and reviewing the progress of staff undergoing development and review performance in line with business objectives Maintain and develop respectful relationships with both internal and external stakeholders Perform any other duty reasonably required by the line manager commensurate with the role What we're looking for in our Candidates Key Skills Ability to successfully engage and influence Experience in presentation of communication Organisational skills with the ability to manage a variety of tasks, and prioritise own workload to meet specific timescales Previous experience of administration and IT platforms Previous experience of designing, developing and delivering learning solutions Motivated to develop excellence in the delivery of a quality L & D offering Effective communication - both verbal and written Ability to work in a small highly motivated team in a collaborative way and to share research, information, skills and insight with colleagues Possesses CIPD Certificate Level 3 in Learning and Development Practice (or is willing to complete) Knowledge and Qualifications Strong administration skills Trained or on the path to Green Belt accreditation CRB Clearance and/or Security Clearance at Baseline level (Serco Civil Government is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and all offers of employment are subject to security clearance checks and approval by the Home Office) On occasion we receive significantly more applicants than expected for some vacancies and under such circumstances we reserve the right to bring forward the closing date of the advertisement.
