Overview
Machine Operator - Days Only Pontypool £20,280 - £23,920 We have an opportunity to join an established national manufacturing company in Pontypool that are expanding due to continued business growth. Duties and Responsibilities Include - Operate machinery used in the production process, or assist other machine operators - Set up tooling, load programs and set machine parameters to ensure optimal performance of the equipment - Be able to handle raw material with overhead crane and load machine with raw material - Be able to determine condition of tools (rework and clean when necessary) and verify coolant levels in the equipment - Work in a fast paced environment with fast changing priorities and report productivity to the supervisor - Provide a high level of attention to detail and focus on a given task - Follow all company rules and policies - Work with team members to maximise productivity and efficiency - Prepare product for shipment - Lift raw materials, final products, and items packed for shipment, manually or using overhead crane - Operate machinery used in the production process, or assist machine operators - Uphold all ISO standards applicable to the responsibilities above Knowledge and Skills Required - 5 years' experience as operator and set up operator within Steel or plastic manufacturing industry - Knowledge of setting machinery - Ability to work with a variety of hand tools including angle grinders, drills etc - Proven measurement and mathematical fraction/decimal conversion skills - Candidate has to be a strong team player - Candidate has to be reliable - Fork truck driver's experience / qualifications is desirable - Overhead Crane experience / qualifications is desirable Hours of Work Monday to Friday 0600 - 1400 By applying for this position you are giving authorisation for Focused Recruitment Ltd to contact you regarding this vacancy and other vacancies we feel may be suitable for you.
