Position Summary: The Systems Analyst is a key role within the delivery of strategic and robust software solutions by Platform Securities’ Business Change function. The successful candidate will form part of the Analyst team and report to the Senior Analysis Manager. As the key project liaison between business users, Business Analysts and Application Developers, Systems Analysts are expected to develop a detailed understanding of both Platform Securities’ core business (wealth management and stockbroking outsourcing) and the IT systems that support the business. The analyst will be expected to work throughout the lifecycle of a project from kick off, through requirements gathering, supporting development, testing and implementation. This is a hybrid business/systems analysis role and the successful candidate will not be afraid to get their hands dirty during testing and implementation phases. Key Responsibilities: Understand stakeholder needs and identify requirements. Document and agree requirements to appropriate company standards. Identify and evaluate technical feasibility of potential system solutions. Specify the functionality and user interfaces of system solutions to be developed. Work with Project Managers to estimate and plan analysis activities. Work with architecture, analyst, development and testing teams (both in-house and third party) to ensure solution designs and systems delivered meet the business requirements. Low level systems analysis and system interrogation is required to validate issues and define solutions. Application of system configuration. Support resolution of issues raised during the testing phase of projects. At a senior level, work with Project Sponsors in the pre-project approval phase. Produce the following documentation: System Requirements documentation, Solution Design Specifications, System Configuration Documentation. Work with the testing and systems administration teams to ensure successful testing and implementation of projects. Maintain the first line of compliance defence by ensuring individual adherence to business processes and procedures that are designed to meet the regulatory standards set out in the relevant FCA rules and guidance. Always treat customers fairly. Maintain the appropriate knowledge, skills and expertise to carry out the role competently. Adhere to FIS Policies Essential Experience: Experience of the full project lifecycle from feasibility/project start-up through to implementation. Experience of involvement in IT projects in an analysis role (Business Analysis, Systems Analysis or a combination). Proven problem solving and analytical skills. Ability to influence and communicate effectively with a diverse range of stakeholders. Understanding of business/systems/technical analysis and software modelling techniques. Analysing and improving business activities & processes. Requirements elicitation and analysis using a range of techniques. Documentation and management of technical system requirements. Modelling of IT systems from data, process and dynamic perspectives. Proven ability to develop detailed understanding and expertise on complex software systems. Understanding of systems architecture and design concepts, ideally in transactional/dealing environments. Experience of specifying functionality and user interfaces of software solutions. Ability to review detailed technical/design specifications produced by development teams. A strong understanding of wealth management and stock-broking systems (preferably front, middle office, back office, and websites). What we offer you: 25 days annual leave bank holidays.
