Winning new business is the hardest part of any sales job. If you're good at it you deserve a proper reward. And there's no better reward than equity in a successful company. That's not to say that you'll be starting from scratch. That it will all be new business. This is a successful firm with £100m assets under management. They have clients. They have introducers. They have a senior adviser retiring in a few years. But to get equity you need to be an adviser that can add value through winning new business. That's not most people. And there's no shame in that. But if it's you then you might as well do it in an environment that enriches your future, not just someone else's. You'll be a Level 4 adviser with a track record of winning new clients. You'll enjoy prospecting. But you will also be a first rate financial planner that builds relationships for the long-term. You'll get a package to suit you (employed or self-employed) plus bonus.
