Overview

Freight Forwarder - Reading - Up to £30k An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced multi modal freight forwarder to process all aspects of (primarily export) Air and Sea freight shipments. The successful applicant will ideally have an understanding of key international trade lanes and preferably shipping difficult products such as Class 1 DGR and Section 5. This role is paying between £24,000 to £30,000 depending on experience The role includes: Managing the full life cycle of the movement of goods from pick up to final delivery including: Receiving enquiries, discussing requirement, generating quotes on Boxtop Liaising with air, sea & road carriers regarding routes, schedules and rates Booking cargo space with air, sea and road carriers/couriers Processing customs declarations including trade control licensing as directed Preparing all shipping documentations to meet carriage requirements, legislation and AEO/ISO requirements using Boxtop software Preparing and collating any additional paperwork for each movement to ensure compliancy with international legal requirements Monitoring shipment departures, arrivals and updating Boxtop and customers as required Daily interface with customers, suppliers, third parties, subcontractors and crew regarding the details of the movements Filing & administration, processing of sales & suppliers invoicing, credit notes etc. using Boxtop Supporting project moves where required Maintaining regular contact, building relationships with customers, updating in company CRM Supporting sales team in the development of international freight forwarding opportunities incl. assistance with bid/tender processes & quotes Providing support to Road Transport operation as required Required: At least 2-5 years working in various freight forwarding roles covering air, road and sea Good knowledge of air, shipping lines and routes Experience of processing International Road documentation through UK ports Worked with a broad range of commercial customers (Government, MOD etc) Working knowledge of Export Customs (NES) Must have worked to ISO SOPs and Aviation Security (DfT Regulated Agent) requirements. Security vetting required - must be able to obtain and retain Security Clearance Must have 5 year referenced employment history with no unaccounted for gaps in excess of 28 days, essential for Aviation Security requirements Desirable: Dangerous Goods experience (IATA DG Qualified) Experience with the Government, Aerospace, Defence or Civil Nuclear Sector WR Transport & Logistics are the 1 recruitment partner for transport jobs and logistics jobs.
