Overview

Purpose of role The IT Training Specialist (ITTS) at Dentons UKMEA is part of a core team of Learning and Development specialists who have the responsibility for ensuring that new processes, key business applications or cultural change are implemented successfully and achieve intended business objectives. The ITTS must have some experience of delivering learning events using a number of mediums: Classroom or Instructor-Led Training Desk-side coaching/training Online Training Show & Tell presentations Floor walking The ITTS must have good communication and presentation skills and have the ability to transfer learning knowledge within the real world context of someone’s work and tasks. The ITTS must have some experience of course design, drafting and have some exposure to producing interactive eLearning tutorials, but training will be given to expand upon these skills. Candidates must be highly organised, possess the ability to be self-sufficient and have excellent verbal and written skills. The ITTS must be able to help with the design of structured training programs in conjunction with the IT Training Manager and other team members ensuring staff develop and maintaining key competencies in the use of the firm’s technology systems. Responsibilities Run induction courses on a weekly or bi-weekly basis Deliver planned and ad hoc training sessions both within a classroom and virtually Prepare trainer notes for courses Create training course materials when required, to include user guides, quick reference guides, course outlines, and exercises Create and design interactive and engaging eLearning tutorials Provide some 3rd line support by visiting users at their desks and provide coaching sessions on features and functionality of applications Be a subject matter expert to support Dentons UK & ME Service Desk teams Administer and follow all training processes defined and documented by the training team Keep the IT Training Manager informed of all training activities and requests. Required experience, skills and attributes Technical Skills At least two years' experience and a proven track record of delivering classroom training in either a Legal or Professional services setting An understanding of training methodologies, theories and the mechanisms behind effective instructor led training Some knowledge and use of an eLearning authoring software - for example, Articulate 360 or Camtasia Experience of delivering virtual training Very good knowledge of core MS Office 2016 applications (Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint) Some knowledge of the document management system - Worksite/ FileSite would be an advantage Some knowledge of core legal software (WorkShare, Nuance, InterAction and Intapp Time) would be an advantage but is not mandatory. Personal Skills & Attributes Ability to deal with unexpected situations within a training session and still ensure those being trained are satisfied with the resulting learning event Provide training in all Dentons UK&ME offices when necessary with a focus on our Scottish offices (Glasgow, Edinburgh and Aberdeen) Able to work under pressure to project deadlines and can adapt to differing demands, with the ability to multi-task and prioritise workload given by the IT Training Manager A team player who strives to contribute to the goals of the IT Training team and the larger T&D team Provide training outside normal working hours for shift users when necessary Take ownership of a problem or project through to successful completion Deliver repetitive content with a high level of enthusiasm at all times Be someone who listens, diagnoses what the training need requirement is and fulfils the requirement Proactive with a 'can do’ approach and attitude in all areas with a strong sense of self-motivation Professional in outlook attitude and appearance Able to exercise tact and diplomacy in an organisational setting Be someone who adds value to a high performance client focus team that share all knowledge and workloads.
