Overview

Our premier US law firm client is looking to recruit an HR Advisor, EMEA to join their London office. The HR Advisor, EMEA will assist with the implementation and administration of the Human Resources programs, policies and activities for all personnel in the EMEA offices. These responsibilities include the functional areas of recruitment, onboarding and integration, compensation and benefit administration, performance management, employee relations, off-boarding and terminations, training and development, recognition programs, counselling and workforce planning. Key responsibilities for the HR Advisor, EMEA will include: Assists with HR activities for attorneys, and legal and administrative personnel, to include recruitment, onboarding and integration, performance evaluation, training, compensation, employee relations, benefits administration and the application of Firm policies and procedures Provides assistance to the EMEA offices on policy interpretation Works with the local HR/Office Managers and EMEA HR leadership team to ensure each office HR policies and procedures are compliant with local regulations and laws Works with Firm HR (in the US) to provide HR related data and analytics for global reporting Assists the EMEA offices in implementing a non-discriminatory recruitment and placement program for all attorneys and staff in the areas of recruitment, advertising, postings, screenings, interviewing and orientation May assist in the screening and interviewing process with candidates for Staff vacancies, recommending candidates to hiring managers and extending offers of employment Works with the local offices to ensure new employee orientation is conducted in accordance with Firm standards Assists with the project management of all HR aspects involved with new business mergers, combinations etc., resulting in the onboarding of new lawyer and staff teams and/or the opening of a new international office Works with the local HR/Office Managers and local Partners to ensure the Firm's policies and procedures are applied consistently and fairly May be involved in conducting counselling, performance management, disciplinary and/or termination meetings with employees or guiding departmental and practice group management on performance management and disciplinary matters Helps to ensure compliance with local laws and regulatory agencies Assists with the preparation of data for salary surveys, tracks market data and trends for the EMEA offices Assists with all aspects of the performance evaluation process for attorneys, legal staff and professional staff in the EMEA offices in line with the firm guidelines and timeframes Supports with the implementation and administration of firm benefit programs, assisting with market reviews and new benefit proposals Assists with the roll-out of any firm training programs for attorneys and staff that need to be implemented in the EMEA offices Provides cover for the EMEA HR Administrator and Senior HR Manager, EMEA when necessary Performs other duties and undertakes ad hoc projects as assigned The ideal candidate for the HR Advisor, EMEA position will be degree educated with solid relevant HR experience from a law firm or professional services firm, including experience of working with international offices. An understanding of the employment laws with Europe, the Middle East and Asia (or some combination thereof) is preferred. You must have excellent written and oral communication skills and be technically strong in all HR functional areas. You will be a self-starter, self-motivated, results-oriented and have a confident manner with the ability to quickly establish credibility.You must be able to build strong business relationships and establish trust with all levels of personnel, and have the ability to deal positively and professionally with difficult situations and conversations.
