Compliance Manager Peterborough Full Time, Permanent £40,000 - £60,000 Are you a passionate Compliance Manager? And looking for an exciting new role? Coulter Elite Resourcing are currently looking for a Compliance Manager to work with their very well established client based in Peterborough. The successful candidate for this Compliance manager role will be working closely with the Chief Executive and other partners to provide compliance programmes to meet regulatory requirements. This will involve policy development, training, monitoring, risk assessment, advising the business on compliance matters and issue remediation. Job specific requirements for the Compliance Manager role: Monitoring and maintaining the firm's compliance for all statutory and professional obligations in relation to Money Laundering Regulations 2007 and the conflict/confidentiality aspects of the SRA Code of Conduct. Draft Suspicious Activity Reports (SARs) for review and sign-off by the MLRO. Liaising with the CEO, CFO, team members, partners, fee-earners and support staff at all levels, including external parties and AML ID Checking Service providers. Arranging and training all staff about AML compliance issues, the Bribery act and Conflict checking. Leading on bringing together the various compliance functions across the business so that a global risk picture can be ascertained and, monitored and acted upon in a timely fashion Advise on compliance issues relating to mergers and acquisitions. Responsible for managing the firm's ongoing compliance with ISO and Lexcel to include organising, preparing and running both internal policy and procedural audits and external audits. Managing and overseeing the work of the internal file auditor and answering queries resulting from audits. Analysing data extrapolated from reports to provide the Chief Executive and Risk Committee with an overview of risk trends by lawyer, department and firm. Managing and analysing the Risk Register with the Chief Executive Drafting reports for the Chief Executive to the SRA when breaches occur. Being pro-active in instigating new methods of identifying risk. Person specification for the Compliance Manager role: Strong interpersonal and communication skills with ability to interact at all levels. At least 5 years' experience within a similar role, ideally in a legal setting Excellent knowledge of the AML, Anti-Bribery Act and associated legislation, and the conflict and client confidentiality aspects of the SRA code of conduct Confident in decision making regarding ISO and Lexcel enquiries Computer literate with good working knowledge of common desktop applications such as MS Outlook and Word, but especially Excel. The ability to be tenacious even if resistance is encountered from lawyers, whilst being flexible where possible. Self-motivated, and able to impart own drive to others in a diplomatic and patient manner. Actively seeks to understand concerns, acknowledges differing points of view and looks for ways to overcome difficulties. Seeks opportunities to be proactive and pre-empt lawyer needs. High level of confidentiality, discretion and diplomacy. Uses initiative, plans and organises own workload to meet deadlines and prioritises work.
