Overview
Our client is looking to recruit an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer to join their expanding R&D team. Based in the South Cambridgeshire area; they specialise within the Medical Equipment industry and are a very successful provider of a wide range of products. This role offers the opportunity to join a company with an ever-expanding portfolio, and you will constantly be involved in the creation and development of novel and innovative products within the R&D team. Mechanical Design Engineer Responsibilities: Designing products; prototyping, assembly work, material identification and manufacturing process development Effectively incorporating mechanical and electronic elements into products Utilising design skills in 3D CAD & managing drawings Working with multidisciplinary teams to deliver innovative solutions Working with other team members to ensure successful delivery of projects Generation of concepts and layouts of robust products; based on engineering principles and realised using the in-house CAD package Engineering analyses of system designs, including tolerance analysis Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify technical and business risks associated with product design and development processes Writing technical reports and producing high quality design documentation Effective presentation of findings and information to clients and colleagues Mechanical Design Engineer Requirements: A strong degree in Mechanical Engineering, Design Engineering or Product Design Engineering Experienced using 3D CAD, preferably SolidWorks Strong Engineering background Knowledge of design for manufacturing processes Proficient interpersonal and presentation skills This role comes with an attractive package, working for a market-leading company who are at the cutting edge of their market.
