As Senior Sister within our Oncology Unit you will be a visible leader of the ward who is accountable for the management of the people resources, material and equipment resources, and demonstrate commitment, consistency and reliability and effectiveness in delivering high quality patient care communicating effectively at all times and at all levels. This is a full time role working 37.5hrs per week on internal rotation to include days, nights and weekends. Duties & Responsibilities By leadership and by effective role modelling the provision of a high standard of nursing care to meet the needs of all patients and those close to them over each 24 hour period Documented plan of nursing care, developed where possible in partnership with them, their carers and family and friends, within a framework of informed consent. Act as shift leader whenever on duty, monitoring the care of a group of patients and taking the lead in emergency situations and evaluation of post emergency care situations Act as an expert practitioner and role model, assisting colleagues to develop advanced knowledge and skills in order to benefit the treatment and care of patients Undertaking of all HR and recruitment processes and procedures in accordance with HCA standard policies and practices Skills & Experience Registered General Nurse with full NMC registration. Leadership/mentoring experience. Extensive experience in the field of oncology. Excellent communication skills with good time management skills and the ability to work within a multi-disciplinary team.
