About The Facility: HCA Healthcare UK – The World’s largest private hospital group; providing award winning acute and complex care. Rated as 'outstanding' by the CQC, the London Bridge Hospital campus in South East London encompasses an outpatients and diagnostic centre in The Shard; the large world-class hospital based at the Tooley Street site; Private Care at Guys, which is on the top four floors of Guys Hospital Cancer Centre; and outpatient and diagnostic centres across the City, Canary Wharf and Kent. With 160 beds, 22 ICU beds and 10 operating theatres we offer our patients exceptional treatment across a multitude of acute and complex care, and have use of the latest technologies and healthcare innovations. Our theatre staff works across the London Bridge Hospital campus theatre suite which comprises of 10 theatres across the main hospital and Private Care at Guys. The theatres provide a vibrant, exciting and professional environment where the advance equipment and technology is second to none and includes; fully integrated theatres equipped with the Stryker system, laminar flow systems and da Vinci surgical system. The theatre team comprises of consultants and Practitioners who have vast experience and knowledge across a range of specialties. There are many complex procedures carried out daily, across a range of acute specialties, including orthopaedics, thoracic, urology, spinal, gynaecology, reconstructive, complex liver, transplant, neurosurgical and cardiac procedures, as well as general surgery. In fact the only specialties London Bridge Hospital campus does not undertake are ophthalmic and Paediatric Surgery. Job Description: As a Lead Scrub Theatre Practitioner, you will undertake the management of the surgical service on a day to day basis and be responsible for delivering a consistently high standard of patient care utilising evidence-based practice. In addition, you will provide leadership to a multidisciplinary team and deputise for the Theatre Manager in their absence. This is a full time role working 37.5hrs per week (typically 5 x 7.5 hour shifts between the hours of 0700 – 2100), with participation in the on call rota. The attractive and competitive salary for this role is between £46,400 - £52,000 (with an additional 4% shift enhancement) and will be dependent upon skills and experience. Duties & Responsibilities: Deliver a consistently high standard of patient care utilising evidence based practice Assessing, planning, delivering and evaluation of peri-operative patient care Contribute to the improvement and maintenance of quality patient care by the use of evidence based Actively contribute to the continuous improvement in customer service practice Identify and implement, where possible, business development opportunities and to understand the healthcare market and customer needs. Orientate new staff to department and assist them in integrating with the team Promote and maintain a positive learning environment for all staff Ensure surgeons’ and the patients’ perioperative needs are fulfilled in an efficient and effective manner Co-ordinate staff and resources to meet departmental needs, within budget Skills & Experience: Current RGN or ODP Registration Extensive experience in a similar role Ideally have extensive experience in Urology, Cardiac or Orthopeadics You will also have experience of leading a team, which involves the mentoring of other members of theatre staff.
