Overview

Criminal duty solicitor with LAA supervisor status sought to head up a crime department in Leicestershire. This is an exciting opportunity for an ambitious solicitor with LAA supervisor status to play a significant role in the leadership and development of a new department. Able to hit the ground running, the successful solicitor will utilise their expertise in the field to build a successful crime team and manage a developing caseload from clients they bring into the practice. Full time working will be essential to comply with Legal Aid requirements. Responsibilities • Representing clients detained at the police station • Advocacy in the Magistrates Court • Preparing cases for trial • Liaising with external professionals • Generating client referrals • Participating in business development and networking The Candidate • A qualified solicitor with a minimum of 3 years’ PQE and criminal duty accreditation • Legal Aid Agency supervisor status is essential • Possesses outstanding communication and client care skills • Be able to manage a demanding caseload, with minimal supervision • Works well under pressure and meets tight deadlines • Ideally has a following of clients to bring to a new practice The Firm Our client is leading, modern practice with a loyal and expanding client base.
