Overview
A top performing London Local Authority are looking for a Data Migration Specialist to join their Planning & Public Protection IT Solution project team. You will play an integral part in the transition from old to new, providing key analysis and planning on data quality, data migration and integrations to the new solution. Your key responsibilities will be: - Analysis and mapping of the existing data structures, identifying critical and redundant data for transition and cleansing - Data transformation and mediation planning between source and destination - Identification of areas for improvement, specifically around automated data capture, processing and analytics - Reviewing multiple databases, consolidating existing integrations as far as possible into a single database solution - Documenting detailed business requirements and engaging with the primary supplier to plan and coordinate the migration into the new solution - The development of a suite of data visualisations for the production of monitoring, reporting and analytical dashboards working closely with business areas as required Qualifications needed include: - Proven working experience on data migrations and data analysis - Ideally, a working knowledge of the NorthGate M3 or IDOX system migrations - Sound understanding of Oracle/SQL database management systems - Proven working experience of data analysis and mapping tools and applications - The ability to analyse, map/model and interpret data - The ability to plan your own work and meet deadlines - Accuracy and attention to detail will be essential to the role - The ability to understand data visualisation with the confidence challenge and present insights back to stakeholders and suppliers This is an 8 month fixed term contract with the possibility of extension.
