Job Title: Assistant Quantity Surveyor Location: Stockbridge, Hampshire Salary: £30000 - £40000 Summary of Position: Our client, a high quality bespoke joinery, are looking for an Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join their team. The Assistant Quantity Surveyor will be responsible for supporting and liaising with different members of the team, to ensure projects are completed on time. The responsibilities include but are not limited to the following: Liaising with operations and factory managers in order to determine progress on projects in the factory Filling out application sheets for all projects within the company and applying from customers for monthly valuations Working with estimators, operations and sales to capture extras and get these approved from the customer Work with the accounts team to successfully assist in keeping our debtor’s days down below 60 days Hitting valuation dates across the board with different projects needing valuations in on different days Successfully interpreting payment notices, playless notices and other contractual documents Tracking and applying for retentions on projects Advising on contracts with schedules of amendments and what could pose a risk to the company Checking subcontractor payment claims against works carried out Skills, Experience: Competent computer user, including MS Word A good understanding of the manufacturing process. Must be competent in literacy and numeracy, in particular the ability to interpret data and use spreadsheets Must possess a clean driving licence Key Candidate Attributes: Able to work in a high pressure and time constrained industry Can-do attitude and approach Able to listen and have good communication skills Be prepared to work using their own initiative and take responsibility for their role and be accountable Work well as a team player and has a sense of humour Ability to make a good cup of tea ??
