Overview

An independent Accountancy and Business Services firm in the South West has a requirement for an Accountants Assistant to join their team in Somerset. They offer audit, accounting, tax, and consultancy services to a wide range of clients including private clients, SME’s, charities and not for profit through to corporate organisations. They are looking for an Assistant Accountant to join their established Somerset based office. The Assistant Accountant will prepare accounts for Limited Companies, Sole Traders and Partnerships whilst also completing Tax and VAT returns. You will take ownership for small assignments while assisting with larger assignments and undertaking one-off projects as required. As you progress you will have the opportunity to supervise more junior staff. Skills, experience & knowledge: Previous experience as an Accounts Assistant, ideally gained in practice. Part qualified AAT/ACA/ACCA - further training and study support will be offered. Good IT skills, ideally with knowledge of Cloud Accounting and Sage. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Good understanding of tax.
