Business Planning Manager Mansfield 2 Year Fixed Term Contract £31,044 - £43,220 per annum I am currently working with a public sector organisation that is looking to add a skilled Business Planning Manager to their team on a 2 year contract. The ideal candidate will have experience of managing a small team, conducted business planning to develop the strategy of an organisation and have the capability to deliver objectives in a timely manner. Main Responsibilities To manage the portfolio management office team and provide support to the Head of Portfolio. To lead senior stakeholders in business planning activities to develop the annual strategic objectives and measures to meet the organisations business plan. To collate, review and provide timely delivery of management information and performance reporting to the Executive team, Senior Managers and other stakeholders. Line Management To manage and develop the Portfolio Office team and set and ensure the achievement of team objectives. Ensure consistency of approach by Portfolio Office team members and promote sharing of good practice across the team. To coach and mentor individuals to deliver high performance and encourage a culture of customer focus, innovation, continuous improvement and change. To drive good customer service principles across team activities. Business Planning Lead the Heads of Department and the Executive Leadership team to facilitate a review of the organisations 5 year business plan and lead on activities that determine the organisation's strategic objectives and KPIs (the portfolio). To develop and maintain the portfolio register of strategic change and the portfolio delivery plan. To develop and maintain positive internal stakeholder relationships, influencing people at all levels including the Executive Leadership Team. To identify and challenge resource, budgetary and other constraints within the portfolio on a quarterly basis and work with the relevant senior leaders to overcome them; providing creative solutions to a range of complex problems. To manage the organisations resource and capacity planning processes and reporting, aligning this to business planning and to the altering pace of change within the organisation, providing a holistic overview of total workload implications. To provide governance through facilitation and coordination of the organisations Investment and Opportunities Board, supporting the Executive team in ensuring that we are 'doing the right things'. To support the organisations risk management practices through the management of the Corporate Risk Register reporting which provides assurance to the ELT. To provide management information as required to the Executive team, Senior Managers and other stakeholders, including the monthly report on portfolio performance. To champion portfolio office services and communicate them at all levels. Essential MS Excel intermediate level. Extensive experience in leading and managing strategic planning or portfolio planning activities. Line management experience. Experienced in engaging with executive level stakeholders. A desire to provide a high level of customer service. Ability to use positive language and creatively problem solve. Ability to persuade and influence at high level, effectively dealing with challenging situations. Desire to take ownership. Excellent planning and organisational skills. Accuracy and attention to detail for review of management report information and information for Board papers. Identification of risks and ensuring appropriate control measures are implemented and monitored. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to develop constructive professional relationships with internal and external customers. Collaborate with wider organisations, network and benchmark.
