Overview

An exciting opportunity to join a well established market leader within the offshore industry has just become available within the Norfolk area The successful candidate will be an experienced, self motivated person, able to work independently at a high intensity, able to deliver work against defined projects plans within agreed time frames. HNC, HND or Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a relevant industry qualification required. KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES - To provide drive and energy for the completion of all allocated project works - Ownership of project from project handover until completion, recording and resolving actions via the action tracker. - Promote and adherence of site /offshore safety and quality to company standards - Effectively communicate construction & installation engineering requirements and expectations to team members and stakeholders - Develop offshore installation specifications for client approval - Develop detailed installation procedures / Equipment lists / Certification Packs To act as the project focal point and liaise with the Client, nominated 3rd Party bodies and all internal departments, dealing with both the commercial and technical aspects of the project delivery. Develop detailed S.I.T & F.A.T procedures Define, manage and drive the project delivery schedule, identifying critical path items and capturing all QA/QC elements Prepare project user requirements, documentation and manuals by engaging with customers, and taking sales (purchase orders) to a finale against an agreed specification. Ownership of ordering material / services in good time to meet project requirements and to raise material enquiries and purchase requisitions At delivery / execution / Hook-up and commissioning of the project all “gates” to have been followed, project controls met and deliverable fit for purpose. The Construction & Installation Engineer will lead meetings with the design team and instigate or actively participate in Design reviews. ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS Preferred HNC/HND/Degree in Mechanical Engineering Relevant industry qualification / internal certificate gained relating to fabrication and construction environment. 2 years’ engineering experience of relevant / or similar role Ability to read engineering drawings Some experience of undertaking and or acting as a team leader. Understanding of fabrication processes and procedures Understanding of lifting processes and procedures Operating in a fabrication facility environment, worldwide Understanding site safety and quality Operating in a fabrication & offshore environment Good IT skills including Word, Excel, Power point and Outlook. Excellent problem solving, decision making and communication skills Highly organized and accurate High levels of perseverance when faced with challenging situations. Willingness to travel UK and overseas DESIRABLE Minimum 2:2 in Engineering (Mechanical / Civil / Structural) Relevant industry certificate in offshore survival would be an advantage APM (Project Management) qualification Lifting & Rigging qualification Experience of rigging, lifting operations Experience of offshore structures, drilling and subsea equipment Leading a team in an offshore environment Experience of fabrication and topside integration of offshore structures, drilling and subsea equipment Multilingual skills an advantage Commercial acumen (the ability to identify the opportunity to earn money / margin from projects)
