Overview

Job title: Billing Assistant - 24 month fixed term contract Hours of work: 9.30-5.30 Mon-Fri Salary: Up to £30k per annum (dependent upon experience) REED Accountancy are working with a law firm based in Birmingham city centre with a view to recruit an experienced billing assistant on a permanent basis to join their busy accounts team. Duties include but are not limited to: Raising of billing invoices Ensure all procedures in regards to billing and raising credit notes are adhered to Ensure bills are dispatched in a timely fashion and in accordance with the firm's SLAs Investigating and resolving discrepancies Time and disbursement transfers and write offs; Ensure compliance with VAT regulations in relation to output tax; Provide second line support to the Group Revenue Controllers to ensure write offs and any other matter maintenance issues are actioned promptly Provide cover for any team absences Production of monthly and quarterly client reports where appropriate Monitor VAT and SAR compliance Person Specification: Experience within professional services environment, ideally Legal Experience within an accounts or billing role High level of numeracy Proven ability to prioritise workload within a busy environment and meet deadlines IT literate including a good level of understanding in Microsoft packages Accuracy with attention to detail Excellent communication skills (written and oral) Able to build relationships with colleagues at all levels Team player and willing to go the extra mile
