Overview

Are you a Transfer Station Operative looking for a new opportunity? At Viridor, we’re investing in state-of-the-art recycling facilities, changing how our client waste is managed. Our Transfer Station Facilities in Somerset will provide fuel for our new Energy Recovery Facility (ERF) at Avonmouth in Bristol, by ensuring efficient turnaround times to maximise waste transportation and delivering waste to the ERF. Our investment in plant and technology allows us to operate at the highest quality, environmental, energy efficiency and health and safety standards. We are now looking for a Transfer Station Operative to join our team in Dimmer, Castle Cary, for 45 hours per week, Monday to Friday. As a Transfer Station Operative, you will assist in the safe operation of the Transfer Station. You will coordinate the day to day transport movements with the Transfer Station, ensuring that health, safety and compliance is top priority and that all contractual obligations are met. The ideal Transfer Station Operator will have: Our Transfer Station Operative will have a good working knowledge of Transfer Stations or Household Waste Recycling Centres, with previous experience of working at either of these, or in the waste management industry. Basic knowledge of Health and Safety and previous experience of operating plant would be advantageous, although not essential to the role. You will remain professional and courteous to all visitors to site, as well as building relationships with stakeholders at all levels. Experience of 360 Excavator and Loading Shovel is an essential requirement of this role, as is the ability to provide basic maintenance to all types of loading equipment. A full UK driving license is essential for this role.
