Overview

Business Relationship Manager, Professional Services, Stakeholder Management, Manchester or Liverpool Business Relationship Manager required to work for a large Professional Services business based in Manchester or Liverpool. We are looking for an 'experienced BRM’ who ideally has experience of working within Professional Services - if not, previous companies MUST have been of a significant size with clear exposure to difficult Stakeholder Management. Ideally, if you have worked in Accountancy, Audit or even a Law Firm (for instance) this would go a long way Securing this role will be down to your experience, personality, resilience, attitude, ambition and good examples of hardened 'battle scars’ This role would be for the Northern region of the UK for this Global Professional Services firm, so there would be some travel from office to office…but also the flexibility to work from home. The Business Relationship Management team should successfully act as a bridge between the IT service function and its customer base to ensure that IT services are understood and adopted…and new opportunities and challenges are understood and engaged back into the IT function. This function should also look to help develop business streams by understanding the business problems and offer innovative IT solutions. Read on for more details… The purpose of this role will be to: • Manage the relationship between one or more internal business streams and IT; taking ownership and responsibility for the overall delivery of meeting the business needs while working with the IT solution designers & architects to ensure the development adheres to IT’s agreed architectural design and strategic direction • Engage and communicate with the business across all business streams to the agreed level and develop an overall positive impression of the IT service • Transfer knowledge across the IT department as required and created a strong team network with the other BRM’s • Act as a point of escalation for service delivery issues and act as an engagement function for proactive IT Support • Perform the role of both PM and BA for some of the smaller Agile Mode 2 engagements from the aligned business unit into the IT function • Have a high level of understanding of technology used across the business and existing applications available within IT that could be used to further develop business areas Responsibilities: • Manage relationships with IT, business units. Maintaining open lines of communication with all parties from both a service delivery as well as proactive IT requests • Consult with business streams and review IT usage, services, technology, and department specific projects in order to identify, forecast and develop IT needs. Utilise the adoption and business change function to insure the IT solution and service are embedded within the business unit • Be the voice of the business on both project and service delivery • Serve as liaison with the Information Technology (IT) department for the business unit help them navigate the IT function • To continually understand the business needs and pressures and help to educate the rest of the IT function Capabilities, Knowledge & Experience: • Demonstrate extensive experience in the IT industry with expertise in areas of Business engagement including Project management and business analysis • Experience of working in a project based environment with experience on an end to end delivery • Experience of working in professional services organisation preferably partnerships • Good knowledge of internal products and services advantageous. This includes IT and Business services • Demonstrate a full understanding of the business problems and pressures articulating how IT can help People/Team Management: • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal including active listening • Confidence in presenting to senior stakeholders and ability to demonstrate experience within this • Ability to identify and analyse alternative approaches to dealing with issues and problems • Demonstrates commitment to the firm’s values • Empower others by collaborating on joint ideas and encourages others to view change as a positive process • Ability to influence and persuade others outside his/her direct control • Exhibit confidence in dealing with various levels of the organisation both within IT and the other business units • Ability to identify and analyse alternative approaches to dealing with issues and problems • Ability to challenge existing processes and methods in order to help grow and improve the business Excellent Client Service experience: • Demonstrate confidence in dealing with all levels of the firm, including executive management levels • Demonstrate ownership and responsibility for deliverables/services and is willing to make tough decisions • Excellent customer service and consulting skills This is a fantastic opportunity and salary is dependent upon experience.
