Job Description Post Designation: Administrator: Safeguarding Service Responsible to:Mental Capacity Act and Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards Officer Grade:Grade 4 Location: Any location within the City - Priory Green currently Car Allowance: No Conditions of Appointment: NJC Part Time: 22.5 hours per week Job Purpose and Role: To provide administrative support to the Safeguarding Service. To support the administrative functions regarding Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards (DoLS) including any future changes in legislation regarding the safeguarding of adults. Principal Duties and Responsibilities: To maintain computer-based records pertaining to the Safeguarding Service (primarily DoLS at this time) Undertake administrative duties in relation to the Council's role of "Supervisory Body" (as proscribed by the Mental Capacity Act and Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards' Schedule A1 legislation) Provide an efficient and responsive first line response to queries from "Managing Authorities", other Supervisory Bodies, Independent Mental Capacity Advocates, Relevant Persons Representatives and Mental Health Assessors Support the MCA/DoLS Officer Process and record urgent and standard referrals Track and record assessments and reports, when received by the Team Track and progress assessments, authorisations and reviews to ensure compliance with statutory timescales Maintain the Council's electronic systems (for recording DoLS assessments and other social care assessments) Arrange and minute meetings, as required To undertake routine interrogation of safeguarding systems to support the service's managers and assist in the collation of statistical information when needed To be aware of and respect the confidential and sensitive nature of the information being handled and processed To act in accordance with the Council's Codes of Conduct To participate in professional development, supervision, appraisal and training, including continuous professional development and mandatory training Comply with the Council's agreed policies and procedures including but not limited to Health and Safety, and Equal Opportunities Policies, the Data Protection Act/GDPR Regulations, Freedom of Information Act, Financial Management Regulations and other relevant Council and Government Regulations, Directives and City-wide priorities. To undertake any other tasks, duties and responsibilities as directed and appropriate to the grade and role of the post subject to any reasonable adjustments under the Disability Discrimination Act 1995 as incorporated into the Equality Act 2010.
