**Job location(s): Wolverhampton, UK (WV9 5EU)** The position holder will manage all technical (food safety, quality and regulatory) and administrative elements of the development of new poultry products for the UK Multi Channel business and for Cargill Protein South East Asia and suppliers based in Asia, Europe, South America and potentially China and Russia. The role will be based in our dedicated production facility in Wolverhampton, delivering, short, medium and long term projects. This position provides an exciting opportunity to engage with and influence other New Product Development teams, become a subject matter experience on specifications, food safety requirements and customer requirements. **Main Tasks:** + Project manage an allocated project from the concept phase through to post launch review + Clarifying the brief and working with other team members to conduct feasibility studies + Arranging costs and briefing suppliers + Ensuring food regulations and customer requirements are met during every stage of development + Ensure recipe development, product and packaging design + To run trials at either the suppliers location or other Cargill sites, this includes; organising trials, collating data and samples and reviewing the trial results and making recommendations + Agreeing customer specifications with the NPD technical team and writing quality standards + Sign off on packaging artwork + Raise and communicate SAP codes + Clarify and develop product briefs with Commercial Managers, developing milestones for the customer and preparing supplier briefings + Being clear on time lines, customer expectations, policies, sample approval requirements, specifications, packaging, artwork and quality standards + Compile and ensure all that the development file containing, meeting information, BRC and customer information is available and up to date + Provide technical information and support to the NPD and Commercial Managers **Qualifications:** + A Degree or foundation in Food Technology or a relevant Science or applied Science subject + Previous experience in the food industry in a NPD/ Development position + Understanding of HACCP and Microbiological standards + Experience in gathering and agreeing technical standards, demonstrating knowledge of regulatory requirements for food safety and labelling + Knowledge of creating and completing different format customer specification, including using web based systems + Experience in developing processed Poultry/ Meat products would be highly preferred, + Effective interpersonal skills, both spoken and written in English + Project management experience encompassing the start to a launch of a product would be preferred + The ability to prioritise differing demands and work to customer and internal timelines + Experience in customer contact and presenting product samples + Due to the customer facing element of the position, a full driving licence to drive to customer sites is needed **Our Offer** In return for your expertise and commitment, we will provide a fast paced stimulating environment, which will stretch your abilities and channel your talents.
