Overview

This is a fresh and progressive senior underwriting opportunity with an exciting new and well funded specialist lender and the role will lead to " Head of Underwriting" as the team grows. They key to this particular role is " Diligence" and a clear understanding of the importance of Asset Risk. A pivotal role within the business and the Underwriter will need to be determined and hardworking, with an analytical mindset, strong attention to detail as well as an understanding of wider commercial and market issues that are relevant to underwriting short term bridging and development loans. The role will provide an outstanding springboard for an ambitious candidate looking to grow their career in real estate finance on the funding side and will also provide an excellent foundation for a career in property development in the longer term, either as funder or principal. The Underwriter will be expected to become familiar with and master the multi-sectoral skills and knowledge that are needed to effectively process, analyse and make recommendations for any particular loan. Sectors where knowledge and skills sets are to be enhanced include banking/finance, real estate market, property law and legal process, valuation including methodology and development/construction process. Key Responsibility Become familiar with the internal underwriting processes and credit policy as well as any regulations and laws that apply to the industry. Independent Management: Manage and progress effectively all aspects of own pipeline of loan transactions from start to completion (both bridging and development finance loans) with limited supervision or guidance.
