Role Overview Fixed-term contract opportunities for Warehouse Shift Managers have arisen at our Sainburys depot in Sherburn - this role would suit someone with experience of a warehouse function, having managed, supervised or led a team of managers within that environment. This role is will require shift work so a level of flexibility is required - can include nights/weekends. Who are we? Lead Team Managers who are then responsible for their own teams of colleagues Be conversant with performance and operational targets for each shift, using effective management of resources to achieve KPI’s (cost, quality, service, absence). Ensure a clear operational plan is communicated so that all employees are clear about their expected targets. Ensure that the workforce is competent, motivated, engaged and focused and that they perform effectively at all times. Establish priorities and communicate them effectively. Identify, evaluate, address and communicate, potential problems and risks. Continuously monitor performance and refresh plans accordingly. Liaise with customer, colleagues and other third parties to delivery customer expectations. Be visible, lead by example and promote the Company standard and all its constituent parts. Shift work is necessary on an any working any five days out of seven (including bank holidays and weekends) basis on the day shift (various start times). What will you bring? Proven experience leading and improving safety Experience in a warehouse environment, including detailed understanding of warehouse management systems and previous successful experience of managing a team. Understands and can deliver Colleague Engagement plans. Excellent communication skills combined with logical problem solving skills. Proven experience of managing Trade Unions Customer focused and able to build effective relationships with team, client and other third parties. Enthusiastic, committed and able to respond positively to changing demands. Proven experience of developing colleagues using tools such as Elevate Flexible approach, able to embrace change and accept responsibility Ability to analyse data and make recommendations and action them Excellent communication skills combined with logical problem solving skills. Customer focused and able to deliver and exceed customer expectations Proven ability to build effective relationships with internal and external teams Ability to respond positively to changing demands.
