We are a project driven business, so there is a huge variety in the work we do. We're regarded globally as one of the best in design / applications / installation and commissioning of piping support systems, meaning our expertise is often called upon. You will be working as part of our UK team of 17 reporting into the Engineering Manager and supporting all areas of the business. Using your Design Engineer skills, you will be draughting in AutoCad (2D) although for more specialist pipe support systems you will be designing custom parts (3D). This is a site based role with regular customer visits - you will be on customer sites across the UK and Ireland a few times per month, usually lasting for 2-3 days per time. There are also international trips, usually lasting for 1 week to 10 days, roughly 2-3 times per year. Customers will regularly approach us for our consultancy work too - this will see you becoming involved in piping stress analysis, installation and design consultancy on the commissioning of equipment. We will put you through a rigorous training programme in the UK & Germany to get you up to speed, with a personal training and development plan set up for you to achieve your career goals. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Applications Engineer / Design Engineer / Project Engineer - Pipe and Support Systems What you will be doing: · Support on customer visits predominantly across the UK & Ireland, with some further international travel too. · Draughting in AutoCad (2D & 3D) · Providing technical support to internal and external stakeholders · Stress testing and data analysis · Design Consultancy on the commissioning of piping support systems Your job encompasses a huge variety of different things, as you will participate in projects at various stages. PERSON SPECIFICATION: Applications Engineer / Design Engineer / Project Engineer - Pipe and Support Systems You MUST have either: Full Apprenticeship, ONC / HNC / HND or a degree in Mechanical Engineering Your Experience will come as a Design / Applications / Project Engineer, most probably from one of the following sectors/products: Power Generation, Nuclear, Petrochem, Fluid, Pipes, Water, HVAC (any industry with moving fluids / gases) Valves, Actuators, Vessels Experience draughting in 2D, ideally with AutoCad but experience with SolidWorks or another design package would be fine Flexibility. There is travel in this role across the UK and Ireland, with some international travel too. THE COMPANY: We are a small, agile team of 17 who are part of a larger, global group.
