Overview

Our Client is a distributor of ingredients and raw materials to the UK Food sector. They are now seeking an Account Manager (External) - Food Ingredients . This position will be home based with regular travel throughout Northern Ireland . It is a full-time permanent role reporting to the Sales Manager. Job Purpose To contribute to the achievement and maximization of agreed budget by managing and developing new and existing customer relationships in order to maximize sales Key Responsibilities Responsible for the delivery of monthly / quarterly annual cash flow and budgeted targets using effective sales techniques and the company’s sales procedures Manage key accounts against set targets Awareness of market conditions and trends including competitor activity and market relating to individual products Open and develop new trading accounts Maintain a sales plan for the area, monitoring and mapping time scales and actions required to achieve growth Maintain appropriate level of product knowledge, including attendance at product training Continually seek new market and product sales opportunities Liaise with appropriate BDMs to maximize sales opportunities Monitor, evaluate and report on competitors activities in order to identify sales opportunities Contribute to industry and company product development to maximize sales opportunities Qualifications and Experience Degree (or equivalent) in Business, Chemistry, Food Science or other relevant fields is desirable Previous experience in a food related business (Manufacturing or Distribution) Experience of working with Irish retailers would be of interest Proven track record in building sales figures and margins within a competitive and mature market Ability to grasp USP’s relevant to the product portfolio Strategic relationship management Consultative and persuasive selling techniques Ability to grow sales into strategic customers Demonstrate effective sales techniques Organise the day to day sales activities of the key accounts Good organisational skills with the ability to prioritise, delegate and follow up Tenacious and adaptable Ability to build strong relationships (both internally and externally) Contribute effectively in a target driven environment.
