Location Belfast Job Description Allstate Northern Ireland is a wholly owned subsidiary of the Allstate Corporation employing over 2,000 people in Belfast, Northland (Derry) and Strabane, providing support to the largest publicly held insurance company in the US. Recently Allstate has diversified into Finance and Accountancy with a selection of exciting new roles, and we are seeking the best people with the freshest ideas to join our new team. Responsibilities include (but aren't limited to): * Prepares inputs to reserving process, support for manual journal vouchers, balancing controls, and trending reports looking for reasonableness * Executes account line item displays/account queries, and runs reports * Prepares schedules and exhibits used for GAAP and Statutory reporting and/or analysis * Prepares both basic and complex account reconciliations * Adheres to checklist of monthly/quarterly accounting close related deliverables Essential Criteria * Must be an EU citizen or possess a current UK Tier 1 Visa or Tier 2 visa and eligible to take up full time, permanent employment. EU candidates must also demonstrate they are eligible to take up UK employment post-Brexit. * A degree clasification in Finance, Economics, Accountancy, or similar discipline, OR * A degree in a non-finance related discipline but supported with a 1-2 years accounting experience, AND * Currently obtaining chartered accountancy qualifications * Possesses an advanced working knowledge of Excel; pivot tables, V-look ups and macros * Applicants must be willing and eligible to travel to the USA *This is a nine month FTC, However there is potential that this could be extendedup to afurther 3 months* Desirable Criteria * Possesses good written/oral communication skills and well organized * Possesses an inquisitive nature and demonstrates the ability to problem solve; not afraid to dig into the details and ask questions; ability to respond to ad hoc requests related to assigned tasks * Collaborative and prefers a team environment * SAP knowledge of FI-CO module * Desire to learn about insurance products and insurance accounting Closing Date: Friday 26th June2020 Statement on Fair Employment and Equal Opportunities: Allstate NI wishes to ensure equal opportunity is given to all job applicants.
