Overview
Abatec are currently recruiting for a Site Manager, to join our client, a successful, privately owned, South Wales based construction company. This is a great time to join a company who are going through a sustained period of growth, with retail projects extending from South Wales along the M4 corridor to London and the east coast, down to Devon and Cornwall, along the South coast and north to the Greater Manchester area. Therefore, you will be required to travel however will be provided with free accommodation, a company van, increased overtime rates and an additional £30 a day allowance. As a Site Manager you will: Establish key construction controls with assistance from a site engineer, extracted from issued construction data supplied by the design team for boundary, main build, substructures, drainage, and external worksconfirm -alert CM/ QS of any differences. Review site investigation report and provide any related comments/ concerns in conjunction with the site team. Check documentation to establish any issues relating to contamination, radon or the like. Discuss and confirm arrangements for labour, plant and materials with the CM; for the following; muck shift; pre-arrange all plant. Arrange site cabins and plant with team for commencement with buying team. Arrange and install primary site signage /hoarding/temp/ fencing Arrange setting out for all main elements incl site boundary, main drainage and all within footprint. Take off and requisition materials for the initial works in line with agreed programme. Ensure that engineering controls are consistent, regular and thorough. Establish positive communication with the design team. Our client requires a Site Manager with: A competent approach and knowledge of most forms of construction. Several years’ experience at a similar level and forms of construction, which may ideally include timber frame, structural steelwork/ metal frame and reinforced concrete. Experience in the installation of various forms of facade treatment an advantage. Relevant and current training. Commitment to completion to a high standard and pace.
