Overview
We are currently partnered with a growing consumer business to hire a Legal Counsel . This position will provide legal support and advice to the entire business and manage their legal risk and exposure. The successful candidate will work closely with all departments and support the business both internally and externally as it goes through its next stage of growth. Roles and Responsibilities: - Customer Relationship Management o Working with key stakeholders and internal customers to provide guidance on all legal matters. o Ensuring any issues are dealt with promptly and effectively. o Working with external parties on various legal aspects. - Advice and Guidance o Working with various departments in the business to ensure employees are working within the law. o Advising on specific legal queries and providing advice for trading standards within both the UK and abroad. o Working with the Data Protection Officer to advise on matters relating to data protection in the UK and worldwide. - Research o Keeping up to date with changing legislation worldwide in order to correctly advise the business and ensure their legal strategies are effective. o Providing training to teams on specific areas of concern. - Legal Framework o Ensuring systems and strategies are in place to protect the business, which includes managing litigation and ensuring contracts are implemented effectively. Candidate Requirements: - Qualified solicitor or barrister. - Experienced in a commercial legal role within industry. - Knowledge of design and copyright and associated legal issues. - Experience of commercial contracts and intellectual property.
