Overview

Resident Doctor- Critical Care - The Harley Street Clinic HCA Healthcare UK Salary range from £65-75K, depending upon skills and experience, full time or part time contract available At The Harley Street Clinic, we provide a range of complex care services for adults, children and babies, specialising in oncology, cardiology/cardiaothoracic surgery, major complex surgery and neurosurgery. From open heart surgery on new-born babies to pioneering techniques to treat cancer, our clinicians work together to provide the best possible care and treatments for our patients. Our staff always go the extra mile in caring for our patients which can be demonstrated by our recent outstanding rating, awarded by the CQC. We have separate adult and paediatric intensive care units (ICUs) with separate specialist teams and 103 hospital beds in total, including nine adult Level 2 and Level 3 ICU beds offering the highest level of one-to-one care. Job Description All of our unit are Level 3 and are exceptionally busy with a vast range of complex case patients, you will fully assist the consultants and specialist nursing staff to ensure a high standard of patient care is delivered. The role requires management of Critical Care patients including those with multi organ failure, requiring cardiopulmonary support including intubation, ventilation and management of arrhythmias. This role will work in a small team of Resident doctor working at Registrar level and will play a vital role in managing the medical care with our Critical Care areas. You will have the opportunity to work closely with specialist Consultants and Nursing professionals to ensure that patients’ treatment and care needs are met. This will also include, updating patient records, completing drug charts, clerking admissions, undertaking certain medical procedures as required such as; venepuncture, setting up an intravenous infusion, inserting a urinary catheter, arterial blood sampling, or ECGs You will also take part in ward audits, education, training and research to continuous improve and strive for excellence, for staff and patients. Rotas provided on average 6 to 8 weeks in advance to plan worklife balance Skills and Experience MBBS medical qualification. Registered with the GMC and current licence to practice.
