The Science department is in its second year since re-organisation and was successfully graded as outstanding by OFSTED last year. They have 12 Science Teachers within the department, including a Science support teacher, that all have adopted a more efficient and creative way to teach this core subject. The school are looking for an outstanding Science Teacher to compliment the learning structure already in place. They are also hoping that the new Second in Charge for Science can bring their own proven successful teaching methods to the department. It is expected that the new Second in Charge for Science will be able to model outstanding lessons to other teachers in the department including 4 NQTs. The school boast a successful exam rate of 81% A-C in GCSEs last year with Science achieving 74% A-C in the 2019 examinations. The school also boast success in A-level Science with 7 A grades being achieved last year alone. All pupils in the sixth form are encouraged into further education with 3 going onto study Science and Medicine last year in some of the countries top universities.
