Location London, with travel to sites across West London, Berkshire and Surrey Salary of a Site Manager - Rail up to £50,000 plus car or car allowance, pension & life assurance Job Description of a Site Manager - Rail You will be commercially aware and have the ability to take the lead on site, ensuring all aspects of your projects are delivered efficiently with an excellent record in quality, health, safety and environment. In addition you will be expected to be able to plan and programme your works, prepare method statements, and manage your site team and subcontractors. Must have experience in highways, structures and rail related projects Key responsibilities of a Site Manager - Rail will include: Understanding and correctly implement the requirements of the contract. Ensuring that 'basic’ processes such as Supplier schedules, activities, including any supply chain activities Effective management of risk and opportunity and sharing of best practice. Providing clarity of purpose, accountability and performance targets for all members of the team enabled by them having the appropriate skills and tools. Understanding of the project’s financial position through regular and robust reviews with the commercial team of CVCs and Cost Plans. Robust regular review of contract programme. Assisting in Supplier selection and engagement with shared and open discussions on risks and rewards. Maximising profitability through detailed cost control and ensuring that an effective change control process is in place to record changes. Ensure the contract is administered appropriately. Training, coaching and mentoring other members of staff as appropriate Sharing knowledge and best practice including feedback to development, driving continuous improvement year on year. Efficient delivery through innovative solutions and close engagement with key stakeholders in high risk areas such as access, design and scope. Robust, effective and appropriate project risk and opportunity management. Ensuring that risks on each project are clearly understood by all and mitigated accordingly. Closing out projects effectively and speedily, with a right first time approach to snagging and Health and Safety files that are produced as the work progresses and handed over on completion. Experience & Qualifications - Site Manager Rail Has worked on a broad section of disciplines such as groundwork’s, RC structures, steelwork, and building and can demonstrate a clear understanding in these areas. Experienced at working within an Infrastructure environment. Experience of personal responsibility in managing projects up to £3 million. Has an industry recognised qualification such as a Degree, HND, NVQ or similar in a Civil Engineering/Building or related course.
