Overview

I am currently recruiting for Social Workers and Senior Practitioners for a Children in Care / Looked After Children’s team in Milton Keynes. You will be joining a stable team holding LAC and CIC cases, along with taking on specialised court work including adoption, DOLs assessment, and care orders (not care proceedings). Retention within the service is exceptional, with the percentage of permanent workers within the teams the highest among many of the neighbouring authorities; this has been attributed to the closely monitored caseloads. This enables workers to do their very best work, and focus on quality rather than volume – hence reducing stress on long term members of the team . The service also prides itself on support from all aspects of the service when working as a qualified social worker. Such infrastructure includes: the FAST (Family Assessment & Support team) who act as an intensive support service providing family support plans, initial assessments and more, upon initial referral from MASH; Training is funded for post qualified workers, eg. Practice Educators and Special Assessment Training; finally the management team is incredibly stable, with all of senior management holding permanent posts.
