Job Description

Maternity Ward Clerk Band 2 Hours: 22.5 & 37.5 hours per week As a maternity ward clerk you will working within a team of midwives, maternity care assistants, obstetricians, paediatricians, nursery nurses and the infant feeding team in carrying out administrative tasks and welcoming women, their families and staff to the clinical areas. It is essential you have a willingness to learn and have good communication skills This is a rotational post to include Labour Ward, Antenatal Day Assessment Unit and the antenatal/postnatal ward. Your role will include, organizing and filing paperwork, electronic data entry onto the Trusts IT systems, answering the telephone and taking messages, making appointments and ordering supplies and supporting other members of the maternity team in non clinical work. The service provides 24 hour care and we are looking for staff that are flexible and have the ability to work days, night's, weekends and bank holidays. Working as a maternity ward clerk will enable exposure to further training and opportunities within the organization for your development.
