The Role The role of the Infrastructure & Systems Engineer will be create and maintain high availability systems as per business requirement and to own the full project lifecycle, as well as BAU operational support in a full multi-vendor environment. And to work alongside network team to delivery best broadband services in London. The Responsibilities: Setup & Maintain our customer DHCP & DNS servers. Configure high availability pairs for existing systems. Setup & Manage Linux distro based servers. Perform upgrades & apply security patches to servers. Maintain Linux based firewalls. Configure & Maintain open source monitoring systems. Apply backup mechanism for existing and new system deployments. Customize open source systems as per our requirements. Assist with Business as Usual activities to support day to day system support operations in a ISP environment. Own full project lifecycle of internal projects. Automate provisioning, monitoring and support processes. Integrate internal systems to work together. Adhoc out of hours support for customer service impacting systems. Create support and maintenance documentation for infrastructure and systems. The Deliverables Deliver Systems projects in timely manner. Automate network related systems. Operational Support & BAU Tasks. You’ll Have Strong experience working with Configuration Management Systems like Puppet and Ansible etc. Experience of Linux Administration - CentOS ideally but any Linux/Unix. Experience working with AWS EC2, ECS, Kubernetes etc. Experience working with firewalls and VPNs. Experience working with core internet application protocols like DHCP, DNS and SNMP is essential. Experience working with relational and non-relational databases. Strong scripting knowledge and experience - Ideally Python, Perl, Shell, Bash, Ruby. Expensive Knowledge of application and network security best practices. Excellent understanding of cloud and virtualization concepts. Any experience in Network related Automation would be beneficial but not essential. Working knowledge of IPv6 protocol is essential. Creating systems & network diagrams, SOWs, HLD, LLDs skills desirable. Able to interact with other members of the Business on joint projects Strong multitasking & problem solving abilities. Excellent communication, customer & supplier handling and inter-personal skills, via phone, face to face and other remote access methods. Strong planning, organising and prioritising abilities. Flexible to cope with change, be proactive and adapt quickly to a developing type of service delivery Flexible to visit the datacentre as and when needed Able to work in a high tempo environment, with autonomy Good documentation of projects or other issues is essential.
