Department : Strategic Projects/SIMS Programme Contract: Fixed Term for 24 months An exciting opportunity has arisen for a delivery manager to join the Student Information Management System (SIMS) programme team at GCU, Glasgow Caledonian University. The Student Information Management System Programme is a flagship technology change and business transformation Programme at GCU. The Programme is replacing the existing Student Information System with a new Cloud based system from Tribal. The new system will provide capabilities in all areas of student management from Admissions, Registrations, Progression, Awards and Graduation as well as further capabilities in Finance, Curriculum Management and Reporting. The Solution Designer will play a key role in defining the overall Business and Technical Solution and assuring the quality of the new system and processes. This role will report to the Programme Delivery Manager and will write Architecture and Solution Designs, as well as provide assurance of Supplier technical solutions - ensuring solution designs are feasible, extensible and adhere to supporting design principles and standards. You will work closely with the senior programme leadership team throughout the full design, development and delivery of the programme. To be successful in this role you will bring an extensive track record of technical leadership within a programme/project delivery environment, and hold recognised certification in a solution architecture framework (e.g. The Open Group Architecture Framework – TOGAF) Although, not essential it would be ideal if you have one or more of the following: Experience of the Higher Education Sector and supporting technology systems and roadmaps Experience of migration/integration solution architecture design in a cloud hosted environment. Demonstrable experience of existing and emerging technology standards, IT legislation and regulations This position offers the successful candidate an exciting opportunity to play a leading role in the university’s strategic digital change initiative.
