The successful candidate will be a qualified social worker (diploma or equivalent) who holds an accredited post qualifying award, such as Practice Educator Award, Mental Health Officer Award, Adult/Child Protection Certificate, Dementia Studies Certificate. The successful candidate will work in a busy adult’s team and will carry a varied caseload, working with those from 16 to 65 years, with a range of needs. This includes those with physical disabilities, learning disabilities, mental health difficulties, sensory impairment and blood borne viruses. The successful candidate must have significant post-qualifying experience of providing statutory social work services. It is essential that they have knowledge and understanding of Child and Adult Protection guidelines and information sharing protocols. They should have the ability to work creatively and, in a solution-focused way. In addition to this, they must be a team player and demonstrate leadership skills, supporting the Team Manager in the development of the team and ensuring the objectives of the service are met. The successful candidate will be expected to carry out a range of assessment and care management tasks including: Undertaking outcome focused assessments, risk assessments, risk management plans with adults Carrying out a range of adult protection work, including: Inquiries, investigations and case conferences Participating in team Duty Rota Acting as Guardian on behalf of the CSWO Supervising Private Guardians Before confirming appointment, you will be required to obtain Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) scheme membership through Disclosure Scotland and become a member of the relevant PVG scheme. You are required to register with the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC) within 6 months of taking up employment of this role and to complete the required post registration training and learning (PRTL) over the registration period. The Individual Diploma in Social Work (or equivalent) An accredited post qualifying award such as, Practice Educator Award, Mental Health Officer Award, Adult/Child Protection Certificate, Dementia Studies Certificate.
