Overview
Carepoint Services Ltd are looking for Home Care Assistants to join our team based in Bromley and surrounding areas . In return, as our Home Care Assistant, we offer a competitive salary of £10.20 per hour plus excellent benefits. The Home Care Assistant role You will be responsible for the personal and practical caring needs of service users in their own homes whilst providing general support to the individual and their relatives as part of a caring team. You will also liaise on behalf of service users with other services / agencies as and when appropriate and necessary. What will you be doing as a Home Care Assistant? - Assist clients with personal tasks, such as washing, dressing, toileting & feeding. - Collect pensions & pay bills where appropriate and as identified in care plans - Enable clients to meet social & emotional needs by talking with service users & helping them to maintain contact with family, friends & community - Undertake household tasks such as housework, meal preparation, laundry & shopping - Help to create a supportively homely atmosphere where service users can achieve maximum independence safely - Help service users to manage their day to day finances - Be aware of cultural & religious needs of all service users & facilitate & support them in meeting these needs - Be aware of the needs of service users with mental health problems, physical disabilities & learning difficulties & offer appropriate support - Support family members / relatives to enable them to continue in their caring role - Report any significant changes or deterioration in service users’ health & welfare immediately to Team Leaders What types of Care Service you will/may be expected to carry out as a Home Care Assistant? - Personal Care – you will be expected to carry out duties as detailed in the care plan. These works are carried out between 7am and 10pm. - Night / waking sits – you will be expected to work from 10pm – 7am and attend to all needs of the user whilst remaining in the service user’s home. - Sleeping Night Service – you will be expected to work from 10pm – 7am and sleep on the premises. You are allowed to be woken up to 3 times per night to attend to the users needs. However, should the user require you to attend their needs more frequently whilst on shift, you must attend their needs and report this to the office immediately - Live-in Care Service - you will be expected to live on the premises through the week working either on a 40 hour basis or 5-6 days out of 7. During your rest period, an alternative carer will carry out your duties. Accordingly, you may be required to work on a week on / week off basis - Sitting Service – you will be expected to work 7am – 10pm where you will provide any service including companionship, personal care or domestic work Don’t miss out on this fantastic opportunity to join our growing team.
