We now have an exciting opportunity for an Apprentice Laboratory Scientist to join our team based at Countess Wear Laboratories in Exeter. What will you be doing? As our Laboratory Apprentice you will be expected to comply with Health & Safety Codes of Practice. You will be undertaking chemical or microbiological analysis by approved laboratory methods and procedures and maintaining adequate laboratory records as required by the company and the UKAS system. The Laboratory Apprentice will adhere to the requirements of the UKAS Quality Policy as described in the Quality Manual and to maintain an individual Training Record. You will maintain ongoing competence in line with DWI Competent Analyst requirements in the form of the CPD folder. What do you need? 5 GCSEs or equivalent to include Maths, English and a Science subject Enthusiasm and desire to learn new skills Able to follow set procedures/methods Able to record data accurately both handwritten and electronic formats Excellent attention to detail with well-honed problem-solving skills What can South West Water offer you? The successful Apprentice Laboratory Scientist will earn a first-year salary of £11,138.09, which will increase in the second year.
