Infrastructure Support Manager - Liverpool Street, London / £35K - £40K An Infrastructure Support Manager is required to provide assistance to up to 100 users worldwide, of whom 20 are in our New York office. They will be expected to proactively seek ways to improve the company’s systems and will work with our senior consultants to manage a programme of change. This will be a varied role in which the successful candidate will be able to expand their knowledge quickly in many areas of the business. Programme of Change We have a number of key and interesting projects as part of a programme of change that need to be done asap. This includes the following tasks: Change supplier for the internet line Re-establish back up processes Reconcile our server infrastructure Make improvements to a sales system Move all servers to the cloud Be responsible for further improvements to our 8x8 phone system Be instrumental in redesigning our internal systems e.g. timesheets, internal comms Beyond this there will likely be significant work ensuring the continual improvement and efficiency of our internal systems. Day to Day duties These will include: Being responsible for authoring and monitoring the security procedures within the company, including data security. Providing first- and second-line support to all staff (80 in London, 20 in New York), including people working at client sites/from home. Creating new user accounts, resetting passwords, managing folder permissions. Supporting desktops (Windows 10, Linux, Mac OS), Office 365, printers, Active Directory (Azure AD). Security – managing an antivirus control console and pushing out Windows Updates through WSUS. Checking server event logs. Keeping asset management systems up to date (for desktops and software licences). Personal qualities: The personal qualities required are: Keen, intelligent, logical, diligent, proactive and calm under pressure. As the only support specialist, careful personal time management is essential. Strong communication (especially written) is required, as a large majority of support is conducted remotely – over the phone, via email, and in procedures/documentation. Technological capabilities: Must-haves: Strong user of Windows client & server operating systems. Microsoft Office 365 administration. Administration of network printing. TCP IP networking, including DHCP and DNS. Familiarity with Linux administration Familiarity with IP Telephony. Active Directory/Azure AD. Familiarity with Cisco networking switching, routing VLANs and patching experience. Mac OS X end-user support. Experience within first- and second-line support roles. Experience within a software development organisation and a basic knowledge of software development tools and practises.
